Local festival calls for independent film entries

Now is the time to send in your submissions for the Cape Fear Independent Film Network's ninth annual Cape Fear Independent Film Festival.

Short films on any genre, 41 minutes in length or less, are accepted.

Submissions must be made on NTSC DVD or VHS and sent by following instructions atwww.cfifn.org.

The deadline is March 13 and the fee is $35.

The late deadline is March 27 with a $45 fee.

The extended deadline is April 3 for a $60 fee.

North Carolina residents and those who have made a film in North Carolina get $10 of any entry fee.

Wilmington and Cape Fear region filmmakers may submit out-of-competition works at no charge.

The Film Festival will be held May 1-3.

There will be a $1,000 grand prize for best short as well as individual category prizes.
