The Writer's Guild of South Africa (WGSA) will be holding a special AGM on Friday the 8th of May at Atlas Studios from 3.30 pm to 7 pm. The Guild is taking over from SASWA and plans to rejuvenate the drive to organise writers.
The WGSA intends to create agreements for minimum rates of pay, define standardised contracts with broadcasters and producers, and improve the working conditions and professional standards of headwriters, scriptwriters, script editors and storyliners.
With the ongoing initiatives at Government level around intellectual property rights (IP), it is currently vital for writers to come together and make their voices, and needs, heard within the Industry.
