Finance and Distribution Workshops with Chris Roland

American Producer & Entertainment Industry Consultant Chris Roland is launching a series of unprecedented practical Financing & Distribution Workshops in Cape Town (15 on Orange Hotel Oct 15/16), Johannesburg (Melrose Arch Hotel Oct 22/23) and Durban (The Royal Hotel Oct 29/30).

Having raised and structured over $130 million worth of award winning productions, Chris is an expert in local & international content development, production, financing & distribution, with a focus on independent productions. His Real World Workshops are more than just theoretical lectures providing academic understanding, they are engaging and interactive practical work-flows detailing real world applications based on actual projects.

The workshops include two packed days covering local & international financing and distribution sources and structures, development funding, confidential resource material, co-productions, marketing, sales, contracts & agreements. Practical applications will be applied to actual delegate projects during the workshops. A contact list of local and international financiers and distributors is provided to all delegates attending the workshop.

When asked about revealing industry secrets and resources, Chris is decisive in his response. “I am a big believer in collaboration. Industries around the world flourish because they are unified. The more activity I stimulate through collaboration, such as the financing & distribution resources in the workshops, actually works to my advantage by helping to expand and grow the very industry I am supported by.”

The Workshops are designed for producers, filmmakers, production managers, financiers, facilities, film commissions, distributors, writers, directors, government agencies, lawyers and accountants, and present an opportunity to network with key industry decision makers.

The lifeblood of any project is the financing to produce it, and the distribution to get it to market. Access to these two areas is severely lacking, and the Financing & Distribution Workshops aim to close this gap. “At the conclusion of the workshops, delegates will have the tools, resources and confidence to move their projects from development into production.” Says Chris.

Lunch, craft, special give-aways, and a 45-minute one on one consultation with Mr. Roland is included in the workshop.

Chris has been involved in dozens of award winning film & TV content for the local & international market that have won or been nominated for Oscar, Golden Globe, Genie & SAFTA, including Darfur, Hotel Rwanda, Stander & Charlie Jade. He is currently producing the adventure series Hatari Dawn starring Sam Neill, and the comedy film Last African King starring Snoop Dogg. He is a regular speaker at conferences, markets & festivals, including IFF, MIPCOM, & Cannes Film Festival.

Seating is limited and advance booking is essential. For more information and bookings, email or call Lee-Ann Cotton on 082-855-2529.
